FISIOTERAPIA NO PÓS-OPERATÓRIO DE EXCISÃO ARTROPLASTICA DA CABEÇA E COLO FEMORAL EM CÃO: revisão de literatura

Abstract

Artoplastic excision of the head and femoral neck, Colocephalectomy or cephalectomy is a surgical technique for the removal of the head from the femur in which a section is made in the region of the femoral neck. It is usually associated with pictures of hip dislocation, hip dysplasia, fractures of the head and femoral neck, fractures of the acetabulum and aseptic necrosis of the head of the femur and indicated when conservative treatment is inefficient, recurrent and failure of other surgical techniques. It is a viable and economical technique, but it should only be performed after meticulous clinical evaluation and pertinent complementary tests are required. This work seeks to present the main physiotherapy techniques applicable in the postoperative period of Colocephalectomy in dogs as part of the treatment that will contribute to the faster and more satisfactory recovery of the patient. To better understand the functioning of physiotherapy as a rehabilitation mechanism, we seek to address the anatomy of the hip joint, surgical indications, postoperative procedures and the rehabilitation process through physiotherapy.
