EDUCAÇÃO À DISTÂNCIA EM CIÊNCIAS BIOLÓGICAS: do virtual para a vida real

Abstract

Distance Education is a mode of education that has evolved concomitantly to the development of education and of humanity itself. Present in the history of world and national education since the twentieth century, Distance Learning promotes the transmission of knowledge through the transposition of physical barriers, making this method even more economically accessible to the population that previously could not reach the most basic right to the distance education was, for many years, discriminated against by a large part of the population, especially in Brazil. Currently, with all available technological development and with several studies in the area, Distance Education has gained a place in the academic sphere that it did not have before. However, much is still to be observed with regard to the possibilities of advancement that are still possible and much still is perceived in the need to change the mentality of teachers, students and all those involved in the scenario of contemporary national higher education, which are still resistant with respect to this teaching-learning method. In this occasion, this work aims to analyze the current position and condition of Distance Learning in the universities, taking as a research object the Degree in Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Alfenas - UNIFAL MG.
