A QUESTÃO DA UNIVERSALIDADE DOS DIREITOS HUMANOS: e o multiculturalismo

Abstract

This work addresses the issue of the universality of human rights. Such an approach is necessary due to the lack of adhesion or questioning of countries in the vast majority of the East, about the universal character of human rights, claiming that it is an imposition on a Western universal morality, the objective of this work is to reach or at least try, to find a solution to this question. This purpose will be achieved through the bibliographical review, where, through scholars and other scientific articles, I got all the necessary material for the elaboration of this work. The study demonstrated the need for more dialogue, an intercultural dialogue, to understand that we live in a society of multiculturalism, that respect for difference is promoted, that there is no inferior culture, but we need this discussion in order to reach a consensus on how to effectively protect the dignity of the human person in all parts of the world through human rights.
