A INCLUSÃO DE ALUNOS AUTISTAS NO ENSINO REGULAR

Abstract

Autism is a complex group of disorders of brain development that can occur during pregnancy or shortly after birth. The inclusion of students with such disorder in schools has been much discussed, as there is a great prejudice against these. Autism is considered a Global Developmental Disorder, characterized by a reflection. In addition to the refusal to maintain contact with other people, the autistic child has several abnormalities of language and physical movements, that takes part of the Group of people who have this disorder, having the right supported by special and inclusive education Law in regular schools. Although the presence of autism is still rare in schools, it is important that the education professionals are aware of the characteristic symptoms of this disorder and search for an adaptation in the school curriculum to work the development of these children to be inserted in society. The methodology applied to this monograph is the literature covering reading, analysis and interpretation of books, articles and documents. The research supports all phases of any type of research, since it assists in the definition of the problem, in the determination of goals, building hypotheses, in the grounds of justification of the choice of subject and the preparation of the final report. The main objective of the monograph is the investigation if there are autistic students in regular schools. At the end of the survey, the result of the inclusion of autistic students is a right by law, but is not consolidated due to lack of skilled professionals and the insecurity of schools to accept this challenge.
