INUNDAÇÕES ORIUNDAS DE ENCHENTES DO RIBEIRÃO SANTANA NO BAIRRO SANTA MARIA EM VARGINHA - MG

Abstract

Characterizing flooding as excess water flow, drainage should be consider the characteristics of recipient bodies, topography and permeability of the natural area. For urban planning, consideration should be given to extreme situations for system satisfaction. The city of Varginha / MG, more precisely along the Santana stream in the Santa Maria neighborhood suffers from problems of floods in times of heavy and continuous rainfall this due to the urbanization around the canal and the consequences of this development. The present work performs a analysis of the macrodrainage system that involves the creek and its main point of which is situated on the crossing bridge between Avenida Zoroastro Franco de Carvalho and Avenida dos Imigrantes. For the characterization of the study of the proposed theme, surveys were conducted to obtain photographic records, field surveys, interviews with residents, bibliographic searches, use of maps and images of satellite, etc. It was possible to identify that the canal suffers from lack of maintenance and adaptation of the your drainage system. However, this paper aims to consider the hydrological characteristics of the contribution basin, as well as the hydraulic characteristics channel and physical conditions in order to diagnose impacts and lack of macrodrainage planning and what are the main issues that actually prevent good performance the same.
