Abstract

We sought to understand the need to respond to social housing with the alternative of Light Steel Framing LSF, due to having sustainable points such as low water consumption, low waste production, and industrial production that could meet the national demand for dwellings of the population on a larger scale and in a short period of time compared to the more usual construction that is the masonry, in the work of conclusion of course we show the beginning of the use of LSF in the USA and Brazil, examples of possible buildings with this system , the search of the private initiative in spreading this method better, the process of manufacturing the mounts and modules and the pieces with more details; the research demonstrated in this document brings us comparative among the systems mainly in the sustainable issues, costs and execution time.
