Abstract

This work analyzed the concept of Bullying and its relationship with Physical Education at School, seeking theoretical references on the possible relationship between the stimulus to aggressive behavior in these classes and some philosophical trends in Physical Education in the 20th century that are still present. When conceptualizing Bullying as any physical or verbal aggression against other people, it is clear that this behavior can harm the affective and social development of anyone involved, both the aggressor and the victim. Understanding, therefore, that the Physical Education class has a primordial role in the reflection on these aggressions, arguments are sought in the technical tendencies of Physical Education in the 20th century. to confirm the possibility of Bullying being stimulated by these philosophical principles. The Hygienism of the beginning of the century, the Militarism of the period between wars, and the Sportsism started in the military dictatorship in Brazil in the 60s, have characteristics that encourage violent behavior at school, but in contrast, it is perceived that to reduce the impact From the influence of these trends, it becomes important to stimulate the mobilization of the entire school community (Family, Teachers, Community in reducing these behaviors, which when they are noticed early and, analyzed and debated by all those involved, greatly assist in their reduction. that much research and reflection is still needed, and that School Physical Education classes are a strong ally in the fight against violence in the school environment and in our society.
