O ENSINO DA MATEMÁTICA NA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL: o papel dos jogos na aprendizagem, curiosidade e iniciativa das crianças.

Abstract

This study has as its main objective the search for theoretical foundation on the teaching of mathematics in early childhood education as well as describing the importance of games in this school stage. Considering the barriers created, in most cases by society in relation to this discipline, associated with difficulties and taboos, this study may contribute to its demystification, suggesting a more pleasurable learning for students. The methodology used was based on a bibliographic review carried out in scientific works and articles where authors such as Piaget and Vygotsky demonstrate that the use of games can contribute to the students being able to solve everyday problems and situations in a more significant way. The study showed that the teaching of mathematics in early childhood education is able to expand children's skills, increase the ability to solve problems and develop children's arguments, and even that the teacher's role is of fundamental importance in this trajectory since he is capable to give greater meaning to teaching.
