USO DA ACUPUNTURA VETERINÁRIA EM ANIMAIS DE COMPANHIA

Abstract

Veterinary acupuncture is a millenary technician with approximately four thousand years. It consists in the promotion of pathologies through the insertion of needles and extra-tegic points, made by a specialized veterinarian and the ability to perform as combined. The technique has its origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), being as old as performed in humans, with techniques adapted for each species. Among the complementary therapies for pain control, an acupuncture has been effective, as a pain therapy represents an adequate field of the acupuncture finger, as an acupuncture lever provides a balanced state in the nervous system of the animal. (FANTONI; MASTROCINQUE, 2002). It can be used in patients with chronic pain, neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, such as discopathies and hip dysplasia in dogs (ALVES, STURION, GOBERTTI, 2018). The objective of the present work is to present a literature review on the use of acupuncture in companion animals.
