Abstract

This article analyzes the historical trajectory of materials produced for reading and writing, from booklets to the National Textbook Program - PNLD. This article aims to present the main reflections about the literacy teachers' conceptions, which cross the theoretical and methodological practices of the literacy process of the booklets to the PNLD. This is a bibliographic review research. This purpose will be achieved through online research, mainly through articles published in Scientific Electronic Library Online - Scielo. In the final considerations, it is evident In the face of the research, it was found that no matter how much it has sought to address the flaws of a literacy method, using a "new" booklet as a propagator of renewed proposals for the teaching of reading and writing, it is It is valid to say that the “booklet” structure has not ceased to be used as a guide for the literacy action. The use of materials made available by the PNLD, followed by user manuals, showed a reductionism in teaching and a huge emptying of social actors as conscious agents in educational literacy practices
