Abstract

This paper discusses the importance of the family in the school and its influence in the learning of the children / students. With the objective of verifying how the link between school and family brings benefits to the children / students and also to investigate the role of the family in the process of school education, the study was carried out through bibliographical research, to base the concepts and Presented here. In the first moment it was approached about the present concept of family and its historical course in the society. Subsequently, we started to approach the importance of the family in the development of the child, and then to deal with the healthy and necessary relationship that needs to exist between these two institutions. The results show that, in addition to the structures and functions of the family and the school, one must also consider the changes that have taken place in modern society, which affect both the family and the school. It is up to the school to adapt its pedagogical work to take care of the various forms of family structure and the family to perceive as part of the teaching-learning process of their children, doing what is their responsibility, so that the children are successful. Working together, the two institutions can be completed, harmoniously and with aligned principles, making children / students feel safe and key participants in the school and family context.
