NECESSIDADE DE CAPACITAÇÃO DO AGENTE COMUNITÁRIO DE SAÚDE PARA PROMOÇÃO DE SAÚDE BUCAL

Abstract

This paper analyzes the reality of activities performed by community health agent (CHA) regarding the promotion of oral health and the need for training to develop such a task. Such an approach is necessary because of reorganization of the Unified Health System (SUS) with the Family Health Strategy (ESF) with a more focused rationale for the promotion of health, with oral health inserted in this transformation process and passing to consider the community health agent a facilitator of oral health actions in their area. The aim of this study is to identify how oral health promotion is carried out by community health agents and at times because data is not carried out and how the training could favor the development of this activity. This purpose will be achieved by literature review, through analysis of scientific articles, books, dissertations, theses and government data on the subject.The research showed that oral health teams (ESB) are having their practices modified, turning to the promotion of health, where community health agents are used to supplement this activity. However, it was pointed out that in several brazilian municipalities these professionals do not realize promoting oral health or run partially with small groups, mainly because they feel insecure because of lack of training in this area. It was observed significant gains in knowledge and access to dental services in groups where there has been conducting training of community health agents, demonstrating the need for qualification activities for these professionals.
