Abstract

This article has main scope the advantage of the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), it is intended to understand how it works, since its configuration by software until its economy, reducing cost and time, how for example, in one stations migration that are transferred from a group to another. Through of studies the VLANs could be compared, being them in static or dinamic form, based in the numbers of Switches doors as feature for participation. Associated by MAC address the devices can be moved to any location inside the organization that will still making part of same virtual network. The VLANs group together different protocols in networks, beyond the benefits that allows the network division in various segments, even if the structure is the same the devices are separeted logically. In short, it has the VLANs as a local virtual network that offer a lot of advantages, since the its agility, easy handling, low cost and high performance.
