ARQUITETURA PÚBLICA: Projeto de uma Prefeitura em São Gonçalo do Sapucaí – MG

Abstract

The present work seeks to present within the context of the public architecture, the figure of a municipal city hall, and to point out the importance of this building for the configuration of the city's identity and for the urban context, besides reinforcing the right of the population to exercise democracy through this building. Based on the deficiencies found in the current headquarters of the municipal government of the city of São Gonçalo do Sapucaí, the proposal of this work is based on presenting a solution to supply them through the elaboration of the project of a new city hall, focusing on the public character that such building must have and that will be obtained by means of the integration between the public and private space, as well as between the building and the population. Thus, we will discuss themes about how the State uses public architecture for the demonstration of power and grandeur, theoretical studies on how to conduct an authentic architecture and capable of exercising its social and cultural role well, relations between space public and private, and its evolution over time, as well as design analyzes and concrete case studies. It is concluded, therefore, that by carrying out the surveys, it becomes possible to present solutions adequate to the current needs and demands, and that characterize the building with its due importance both for the city, as well as its employees and users.
