A POLÍTICA E O ESPETÁCULO: os efeitos do espetáculo no processo eleitoral brasileiro

Abstract

The need to become known is essential for achieving success, regardless of the area of ​​performance, product or personality. Thus, in the present day, when the subject is partisan politics, this need deserves and requires redoubled attention, in addition, of course, not to admit amateur, basic forms, as was admitted in the past and even brought success, this being the way the great names of Brazilian politics obtained their respective success and guaranteed their space in the political environment. However, by analyzing the latest developments in national politics, a new type of character has emerged: the non-political - the one who decides to enter public life because he has success or recognition in other areas. Thus, these characters need to build actors who convince public opinion that they are now able to transform themselves into political beings different from those who have held positions and somehow did not match the wishes of those who have vowed to them. Through bibliographical research, we seek to find justifications that confirm the interference of the spectacle and the construction of characters by the media in the individuals' capacity to choose.
