PROPOSTA DE UMA BIBLIOTECA PÚBLICA PARA VARGINHA-MG: anteprojeto para uma biblioteca em Varginha

Abstract

The public library is a popular institution promoted by the government, it is the main source of knowledge and information. The library preserves the memory of a people, transits the local culture, and ensures the social and intellectual development of the community. This course completion work consists of the study for the elaboration of a public equipment aimed at the local community, based on theoretical and practical concepts on the subject, with the objective of designing a public library in the city of Varginha. The interest in the theme was due to the lack of equipment appropriate to the population's desires, since the city that is a hub of commerce, service and education for the entire region, has a library that does not meet the needs of the community. In this way, steps were taken to achieve the objective, resulting in a conclusion work based on theoretical studies and case studies. Thus, with the analyzes resulting from these studies, it was possible to arrive initially at the preliminary studies, finally arriving at the library design.
