This paper analyzes a subject explored in industrial society. This is PCM, which is Maintenance Planning and Control and the various ways to measure and control your productivity using Maintenance Performance Indicators. It also shows the history and types of maintenance over time, using the concepts of several authors, as well as the importance that maintenance reliability has for the development of the organization and the importance of having a PCM sector in the organization chart. a company, showing the main indexes of maintenance, concept and way of use of these indexes, using the concept of improvements in organizations, so that they can reduce their costs and increase their productivity. The methodological guidelines used to prepare this work were extracted from central ideas of several authors in a simple and objective way, to improve the reader's understanding and interest.
