MOTORES HÍBRIDOS: um estudo de custos e benefícios

Abstract

This paper presents a study of costs and benefits on hybrid engines. Such an approach is necessary, based on the information circulating in the automobile market, regarding the high fuel economy that a hybrid engine provides to the vehicle. The demystification of this information will be hugely relevant because it really shows whether the hybrid engine saves fuel. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing vehicles equipped with hybrid engines. This purpose will be achieved through bibliographic research, consisting mainly of books, scientific articles, master's dissertations, doctoral theses, where we will also be making a comparison between vehicles of the same model, but with 100% internal combustion and hybrid motorization, where we will perform track tests on both types of engines under the same running conditions. This study is extremely important so that we can prove if it is really feasible to have a hybrid vehicle when it comes to fuel economy, also taking into account its high cost of acquisition.
