| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | A liga de aço damasco é composta pela união de dois ou mais tipos de aços que possuem características distintas, que são unidos pelo processo de soldagem por caldeamento. A barra de aço damasco utilizada na confecção de laminas é composto por varias camadas, obtidas por dobramento e unidas novamente pelo processo de caldeamento, em um padrão ideal, ficando entre 50 a 600 camadas. O aço damasco, além de grande beleza, possui também grande flexibilidade e dureza devido a intercalação de aços de alto teor de carbono e de baixo teor de carbono. Contudo, nesse trabalho, será descrito o processo de confecção do aço damasco, as descrição dos ensaios e por fim os resultados obtidos e comparar esta liga com os aços base, utilizados para a sua fabricação. |
| Abstract: | The damask steel alloy is composed by the union of two or more types of steels that have different characteristics, which are joined by the brazing welding process. The damask steel bar used in the manufacture of blades is composed of several layers, obtained by folding and joined again by the brazing process, in an ideal pattern, between 50 and 600 layers. Damascus steel, in addition to its great beauty, also has great flexibility and hardness due to the intercalation of high-carbon and low-carbon steels. However, in this work, it will be described the process of making damask steel, the description of the tests and finally the results obtained and compare this alloy with the base steels used for its manufacture. |
