CultureArt: Centro Cultural de São Bento Abade

Abstract

The choice of the aforementioned theme was due to the concern with children and adolescents in the chosen city, where many have their rights violated due to the lack of their families, and in some cases the abandonment, abuse and neglect of those responsible occur. According to the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA), these individuals who suffer from personal family problems are considered socially vulnerable. The importance of preserving the local culture of the city of São Bento Abade has the objective of teaching young people and adolescents, without exception of social classes, collective activities, covering their knowledge and practice of those available. Therefore, the existence of public areas focused on culture and leisure, for the good of the population, is essential, allowing the inhabitants to recover and stimulate cultural identity. After observing the great cultural and artistic expressions of the city, it was noticeable the absence of an architectural space for these, and the lack that is made in an urban and social context. Therefore, this study has as main objective to elaborate an artistic-cultural space that can integrate all the social groups of the municipality offering cultural activities and workshops, and be the stage for presentations of different arts, with the aim of democratizing culture and its arts.
