MULTILAVRAS: Centro Cultural de Lavras

Abstract

This work presents and debates the necessities of the implantation of a cultural center in the city of Lavras, place that can be the greatest center of culture and recreation of the city. Located in the main access way and related with the leading universities in the city, UFLA – Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras), e Unilavras – University Center of Lavras (Centro Universitário de Lavras). Through a concept of the contemporary architecture, the suggestion consists in transforming an unused area in the middle of the city and to transform it in an appropriate place to attend a great demand of cultural manifestation that occurs there, once there are no appropriate structures to receive it. For the strands of this project to be pertinent and usable for the population, the aspects of the project were created through local research, analysis of everyday use, cultural events already existent and that includes a great part of the population, immediate environment, and among others. Therefore is possible to apply architectural measures that will collaborate to the daily use of this place.
